HKBN Enterprise Solutions and Beijing Research Institute of Telemetry Forge Strategic Collaboration
Jointly Exploring New Opportunities in the Low-Altitude Economy and Smart City Development
(Hong Kong — October 20, 2025) HKBN Enterprise Solutions (HKBNES) and Beijing Research Institute of Telemetry (BRIT) have signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. By integrating BRIT’s cutting-edge aerospace telemetry technologies with HKBN’s robust network resources, extensive customer base, and digital solutions, the two parties will explore commercial applications in areas such as the low-altitude economy, smart city development, and the Internet of Things. This collaboration also aligns with the national “Aerospace-Land-Sea Integration Strategy”, supporting the advancement of digital infrastructure in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Under the agreement, a joint task force will be established to drive cooperation in the following key areas:
- Deployment of satellite ground stations in Hong Kong to build an integrated “Satellite + 5G” network
- Introduction of remote sensing Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) to provide enterprise customers with commercial satellite data support
- Delivery of integrated communication, navigation, and remote sensing solutions for smart city development and major infrastructure projects
- Research and development of communication and airspace management technologies for the low-altitude economy, promoting applications such as drone logistics
- Implementation of demonstration projects for infrastructure monitoring and emergency management
Focusing on the GBA, the collaboration will drive the deep integration of satellite communications and terrestrial networks, while expanding business opportunities in emerging fields such as the low-altitude economy and smart city solutions. Leveraging Hong Kong’s international platform, the collaboration will also promote integrated communication-navigation solutions, fostering deeper synergy between the nation’s aerospace sector and Hong Kong’s telecommunications industry.
Dr. Denis Yip, HKBN President and Group Chief Operating Officer, said: “BRIT’s research capabilities will substantially strengthen our service offerings in satellite communications and remote sensing technologies. This collaboration will not only provide customers with more advanced integrated solutions and greater commercial value, but also enable us to jointly explore emerging fields such as the low-altitude economy and smart city development, accelerating digital transformation and infrastructure upgrades across the GBA."
Peng Yongqing, Deputy Director of BRIT, said, “This collaboration marks a significant step in bridging aerospace technology with civilian applications. We look forward to leveraging HKBN’s network and service capabilities to accelerate the commercialisation of our innovative technologies, providing next-gen infrastructure support for smart city development and the growth of the low-altitude economy.”
