“Moonlight Mystique” is a romance costume drama directed by Zhu Ruibin ("The Long Ballad") and starring Bai Lu ("Ordinary Greatness"), Ao Ruipeng ("The Blood of Youth"), Dai Luwa ("Lost You Forever") and Chang Huasen ("A Journey To Love"). The drama is adapted from the novel "Bai Shuo Shang Shen" by Xing Ling. It tells the story of Bai Shuo, the youngest daughter of the General's Mansion, who aspires to cultivate immortality in order to repay a favor. On her journey to seek immortality, she accidentally rescues the great Demon King Fan Yue. As the saying goes, healthy fights strengthen relationships, and they go from mutual manipulation to mutual affection as they fall in love with each other.

The story follows the unrestrained swordsman Huo Zhanbai (played by Zeng Shunxi), who seeks medicine for a friend's child and encounters the pharmacist Xue Ziyue (played by Li Qin). Over eight years of daily interaction, they progress from having their own convictions to deepening understanding, mutual redemption, and a promise to meet under a plum tree the following year.

The story narrates a magnificent legend where "demons capture demons." During the Zhenyuan era, due to the accidental death of the Bai Ze goddess, who governed the realms of humans and demons, the Bai Ze Order goes missing, leading to rampant demon beasts causing chaos and numerous bloody murders in the human world.

In the fifteenth year of Qingshuo, Li Cong Huan, the ninth princess of Zizhou, married Mo Heng, the crown prince of Qingshuo, and the whole country of Qingshuo was filled with a festive atmosphere. Little did they know that Li Cong Huan came here only for revenge.
